Artist Name Papa Kalin
Papa Kalin comes from the Centre Region of Cameroon. He got involved in music at a very tender age, with participation in various choral groups. He grew up with a very strong bond with the Congolese community in Yaounde (a bond that would influence his musical affiliation and shape his artistic direction). During his Secondary and High School studies, he was an active musical performer, managing his own group of performers.
Papa Kalin started writing his own songs in 1999. He took his first professional steps in music at the side of his idol (PAPA WEMBA). He performed alongside Papa Wemba as a dancer while perfecting his singing techniques.
In 2008, he embarked on his first Studio works and also founded Orchestra Wala Wala International.
In 2008 and 2009, Papa Kalin was Finalist in the Cameroon Nationwide Mutzig Star Competition.
In 2010 he was contracted as "Chef D´Ochestre" at Dallas Carbaret Bamenda and integrated his group into the Carberet.
In 2011, Papa Kalin released his first Album (then as Bebe Kalin). He was invited to Gabon by the Cameroon Ambassador in Gabon, leading a delegation of aspiring Cameroonian Artists.
